There is a inspiring report on how companies have reacted to the tragedy of September 11 in regard to the impact on their employees. Sensitivity, a hightened sense of awareness about people's feelings, and an openess to flexibility in the workplace characterized the reactions of the companies surveyed for this report.

Massachusetts Gov. to Telecommute

Incoming Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift will be doing her job from home. Swift has twins on the way soon, and she lives 2 1/2 hours from the statehouse. Swift, as lieutenant governor, has already been criticized in the past for having government aides help her out with her child-care. Swift will be the first woman governor in the long history of Massachusetts, and likely the nation's first pregnant governor.
