"Employees Rank their Benefits"
Hewitt Associates (www.hewitt.com) the big benefits consulting firm, released the results of recent survey that reported 34% of those surveyed ranked pay, retirement benefits, time off, and a flexible work schedule as their basic factors in staying or choosing to work at an organization, followed by health care. Interestingly enough twice as many rank health care as their basic need.

"Best HR practices linked to highest shareholder value"
In the most recent issue of Work+Family Trend Report (January, 2002), written by Susan Seitel and published by Work & Family Connection, Inc. a report by Watson-Wyatt, the big HR consulting firm, states that there is a strong relationship between good HR practices (what they call human capital practices) and better than average financial returns. "Total rewards and accountability" had the biggest impact, followed by" Collegial, flexible workplace" (our emphasis added).
